Does lack of motivation, low energy and dry skin sound familiar to you, especially in Winter?
Then take a little time out for yourself in order to help you get into harmony with the winter season.
Here are a few simple winter rituals you'll want to keep in mind to get you through the rest of the colder, darker months.
Scented Candles – Set the mood in your home, office or bathroom this winter with the use of some scented candles. A few popular winter scents include pine, lemon myrtle, cinnamon and jasmine.
Baths – Run a hot bubble bath and soak your worries away before heading to bed to hibernate for the night. You may want to add a few drops olive oil and a few drops of essential oil into your bath water to provide a little aromatherapy and condition your skin.
A few calming winter bath scents include balsam, peppermint, cedarwood, clove and lavender. Make sure you also have a soft comfy robe on hand so you can wrap yourself to get cozy and to avoid the chill after stepping out of the tub.
Homemade Hot Chocolate – Indulge yourself with a rich and nutty hot chocolate to stay warm and cozy this winter.
All you need is
- 1 cup almond or coconut milk
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon
- a pinch of nutmeg
- ½ teaspoon of vanilla bean paste
- 1 tablespoon raw cacao
Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan and warm over medium heat until hot (not boiling). Pour into your favourite mug and relax.
Board games & jigsaw puzzles – Playing board games like Monopoly and Scrabble or puzzling away with a nice jigsaw is a great way to truly relax and forget about what’s happening outside on a cold, dull and rainy winter’s day.
These are just a few tips for naturally getting into harmony with the winter season. Use them as a guide to create your own winter rituals to help you relax and enjoy the chilly months.
